Prenatal care is a type of preventive health care with the goal of providing regular check-ups that allow doctors to treat and prevent potential health problems throughout the course of the pregnancy while promoting healthy lifestyles that benefit both mother and child.
Well-child care is one of the hallmarks of a family-centered medical home. Despite what some might think when hearing "medical home" for the first time, a medical home is not a physical place. Rather, it is an approach to providing primary care in a way that looks at the entire picture incorporating all the things that are important to the health and wellbeing of a child.
Going home with a new baby is exciting, but it can be scary, too. Your baby will go through many changes during the first year of life. Newborns have many needs, like frequent feedings and diaper changes. We provide newborn care that teaches and educates parents from start to finish.
Many schools require physical exams prior to enrollment and Madera Family Medical Group is ready to help. Schedule an appointment today and be prepared for the school year. We also offer physicals specifically designed for sports enrollment.
Vision & Hearing provide you with a three dimensional experience in life. Both decline at the same stage in life. Both function inseparably together. The loss of either or both can have negative effects on quality of life. Our goal has always been to protect and restore your vision. When it comes to hearing loss, we understand the importance of prevention. Ask us how we can include a hearing evaluation as an integral part of your examination.
Moles, or nevi, are frequently removed for a variety of reasons. They can be removed by two surgical methods. Ask us which one will work best for you.
Shots may hurt a little, but the diseases they can prevent are a lot worse. Some are even life-threatening. Immunization shots, or vaccinations, are essential. They protect against things like measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough). Immunizations are important for adults as well as children.
The earlier a problem is detected, the easier and more likely it is to be treatable. Madera Family Medical Group has direct access to major clinical laboratory testing facilities giving way to accurate and timely result analysis.
Clinical research is a branch of health care science that determines the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products and treatment regimens intended for human use. These may be used for prevention, treatment, diagnosis or for relieving symptoms of a disease.
By far the most common is to be able to look inside a person's body in a painless manner to see the condition of the patient's bones. Bone X-rays are the fastest and easiest way to view and assess broken bones, joint abnormalities, arthritis and spine injuries.
When a bone is fractured, it may require a reduction (realignment) to put the ends of the fracture back into place. At Madera Medical we do this by moving the fractured bone into alignment. When the ends of the bone are aligned, the injured bone requires support and protection while it heals. A cast or splint usually provides this support and protection.
Minor wounds often heal easily, but all wounds need care to prevent infection. When the skin is broken, germs can enter and cause infection. In a small clean wound such as a surgical incision, most of the healing processes are quick and take only a few days.
Minor surgery is any invasive operative procedure in which only skin or mucus membranes and connective tissue is resected e.g. vascular cut down for catheter placement, implanting pumps in subcutaneous tissue.
